Today I feel a little let-down, which is probably inevitable after such a week and such a day. Thankfully I don’t have much to do today, or really for this week. But I remind myself that Easter is more than day—it is a season.
Our Bishop has renamed the Sunday after Easter Momentum Sunday. I love that. He points out that the high of Easter is supposed to propel us forward into a seven-week season of celebrating the abundant life and joy that Christ makes possible. Things don’t stop after Easter. They grow!
And so I am thinking—casually for today—about next Sunday. Our office volunteers are already at work on the bulletin. Our choir is planning the music, and will rehearse tomorrow. Tomorrow evening the vestry meets to talk about our mission and our future. Life marches on.
I am grateful for the dedication of so many, who keep things moving forward when I am tired. And I look forward to celebrating the resurrection again next Sunday, and the five Sundays after that!
